Conceptualization of the Volume:
All business owners are not necessarily entrepreneurial. A business owner starts a venture as a means of earning a living or to monetize his or her innovation. However, commercialization of an business opportunity runs as a common denominator across the two needs (necessity or innovation) of creating and sustaining a venture. An entrepreneurial business owner will not only convert an opportunity into a venture but will also seek for further opportunities to grow the business. It appears that the difference between the two- a business owner and an entrepreneurial business owner lies in their potential for opportunity realization, which is an essential constituent of entrepreneurship. In other words, the skill of opportunity realization, irrespective of the availability of resources, is the “heart of entrepreneurship”. The potential for opportunity realization (ORP) represents the skill of the entrepreneur to recognize those ideas which have commercial viability, evaluate them in the context of customer needs, understand the availability of resources, and finally convert them into business ventures. The entire process of opportunity identification, opportunity evaluation and opportunity implementation is influenced by both the entrepreneur’s personal and interpersonal attributes. Variability amongst the entrepreneurs on these attributes was found to decide their business performance.
The lack of studies that integrated both the personal and interpersonal attributes of entrepreneurs with ORP of entrepreneurs along the different stages of entrepreneurship led to the idea of developing a book that renders a holistic picture of the Opportunity Realization Potential (ORP) of entrepreneurs.
Opportunity Led Entrepreneurship: An Exploration in the Indian Context is a first of its kind book that highlights the outcomes of research studies undertaken on ORP (Opportunity Realization Potential) of Indian entrepreneurs. The empirical and theoretical studies included in the book will deal with the understanding of Indian entrepreneur’s ORP and outlines its role in the path to entrepreneurship chosen by the Indian entrepreneurs and the types of innovations and strategies used by them to commercialize the business opportunities. Furthermore, this book proposes to include studies that focus on the role of Social Networks, Entrepreneurial Environment/Ecosystem, Cognition, Family Background and Support and Personality in Indian Entrepreneurship. The empirical approach used to understand ORP in this book would be a useful reference for academicians, researchers, trainers, mentors, policymakers and practitioners.
For this volume of the series, we invite empirical and conceptual exploration and analysis of the concept of Opportunity Realization of Entrepreneurs in the Indian Context. Some suggested chapter topics are given below as guidelines for prospective authors. However, the editors would also welcome other original chapter themes around the description of the book provided above.

Submission Guidelines and Deadlines:
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT
The abstract should be in fully italicized text (12-point Times New Roman, 1.15 spacing, not exceeding 300 words), explaining the background, the need, aims, methods, and the expected or the actual findings of the study. Also, it should contain the title (16-point Times New Roman), authors’ names (12-point Times New Roman), designations, affiliation/ address, telephone number, and e-mail address (10-point Times New Roman) followed by a list of keywords, subject to a maximum of five, which should be arranged in alphabetical order, and be separated by commas with a full stop at the end.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPER
The full paper should be prepared as per the guidelines specified below:
Body of Manuscript: Manuscript must be prepared on a standard A4 size paper setting. It must be prepared on a 1.15 spacing and single column with a 18 inch margin set for top, bottom, left, and right. It should be typed in a 12-point Times New Roman font with page numbers at the bottom-center of every page.
Headings: All section headings should be in 14-point Times New Roman font, and subsection headings should be in 12-point Times New Roman font. These must be bold-faced, aligned left, and fully capitalized. Leave a blank line before each heading.
Figures & Tables: These must be simple, centered & numbered, with the titles of figures/tables above the figure/table. Sources of figures/tables should be mentioned below them.
Citation & References: References within the text and at the end of the paper should be in style prescribed in the American Psychological Association (7th edition).
About the editors:
Dr. Kishinchand Poornima Wasdani, a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) Bangalore is Senior Consultant at PwC Canada. To retain her deep-rooted links with academia, she continues to teach at Royal Roads University and University Canada West and has her research projects ongoing with the University of Portsmouth, Babson college, and the United Nations.
As a MITACS Accelerate Postdoctoral Fellowship, and a Government of Canada grant Awardee, she was the first postdoctoral fellow at Royal Roads University appointed in the Faculty of Management. Together with her other affiliations, Dr. Wasdani is currently the Associate Editor of the South Asian Journal of Management.
Poornima is also an active social Entrepreneur. She has cofounded Beggars Corporation in Varanasi and intends to spread the model across the different Indian States. Beggars’ corporation is an enterprise that identifies beggars, mentors, and skills them and assists in developing products and markets. Poornima is also a corporate trainer for Reliance Industries leadership and future skills academy.
To date, she has published numerous books, national and international journal articles, chapters, and case studies largely in the areas of social issues in management, small business resilience, and crisis entrepreneurship. Dr. Wasdani has held full-time and visiting appointments at academic institutions in several different countries-Canada, Japan, and Dubai. She has been a co-investigator for many research projects funded by several national and international agencies including Asian Development Bank Institute; Expenditure Management Commission, Government of India; National Foundation of Corporate Governance, Government of India; Fiscal Policy Institute, and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Government of Karnataka, to mention a few.
Dr. Vipin Gupta (www.vipingupta.net) is a Professor, Author, TruthSeeker, and Motivator at the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, California State University San Bernardino, USA. He has a Ph.D. in managerial science and applied economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a gold medalist in the Post-graduate Program of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. Professor Gupta has authored more than 180 journal articles and book chapters and published twenty books, including the co-edited Culture, Leadership, and Organizations: The GLOBE Study of 62 Societies. Besides delivering lectures and keynotes, he has presented at international academic conferences in more than sixty nations. He has been on the governing board and organizing committee of several international conferences. As a 2015-16 American Council of Education fellow, he visited sixty-two universities, colleges, and higher education institutions in nine European nations, the USA, and India. His latest project comprises twelve authored books under the series “Vastly Integrated Processes Inside Mother Nature” in 2021 and 2022.
