Demystifying the Revise & Resubmit Process PDW

When:  Aug 10, 2019 from 08:00 to 10:00 (ET)
Associated with  Entrepreneurship (ENT)

We all know why it is important to respond well to reviewers (publications!), but what about the mechanics of doing so? What goes into a stellar response to reviewers?

Like much of scholarship, the revision process is done best with guidance from experienced and knowledgeable mentors. Please join us for this PDW aimed to connect less-experienced academics with the knowledge, insight, and experience of seasoned scholars on the revise and resubmit process.

Saturday, August 10
8 - 10 am
Boston Marriott Copley Place
Wellesley Room

Presenters include:

  • David Allen, Editor, Journal of Management
  • Melissa Cardon, Field Editor, Journal of Business Venturing; Editorial Board Member, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management Review

This PDW will address the following topics:

  • Provide a clear understanding of what editors and reviewers expect in your correspondence with them
  • Discuss the trade-offs of who should serve as corresponding author and potential situations when other authors should chime in (or stay quiet)
  • How to learn the art and science behind communicating with and responding to editors and reviewers
  • Learn what not to do: recognize when and why small mistakes or comments are off-putting, confusing, or frustrating to reviewers

We'll hear from experienced editors and reviewers in short presentations, a Q&A panel, and an interactive session where we can put what we have learned into practice.
