Dear colleagues,
We invite you to join our Professional Development Workshop (PDW) and Social Event on Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2019 in Boston.
Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) is a popular approach for formulating and testing necessary condition hypotheses and theories. "Necessary" means that an outcome will not occur without the right level of the condition, independently of the rest of the causal structure. The condition is a "bottleneck", "critical factor", or "constraint".
The PDW is designed for people that want to start with NCA or want to refresh the basics. In the first part, we will offer a general introduction to NCA, present several NCA applications, and compare it with traditional regression techniques. In the second part of the workshop, we will provide you with hands-on instructions to formulate and test your own necessity theories.
Right after the PDW, we organize a social event during which you can meet fellow colleagues interested in NCA and ask any questions you might have about the method. The social is open for everyone who is interested in NCA; attending the PDW is not mandatory for joining the social event.
