AMJ Paper and Idea Development Workshop

    September 21, 2018

    ESSEC Business School, Paris

The editors of the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) invite applications for a Paper and Idea Development Workshop to be hosted by ESSEC Business School, Paris, on September 21, 2018. The purpose of the workshop is to develop ideas and working manuscripts with the aim of later submission for review at AMJ. Consistent with the mission of AMJ, submissions on all management-relevant topics, at all levels of analysis, and using all empirical methods are invited for the workshop. Submissions approved for inclusion in the workshop will be those judged to make potentially significant and novel theoretical and empirical contributions to the field.

    About the Workshop

The workshop is a full-day event and will include presentations by AMJ's editorial team as well as presentations and roundtable discussions from participants. This event is sponsored by ESSEC Business School and will be hosted at the ESSEC CNIT campus in La Defense in Western Paris. A tentative agenda is below.

Application Process and Deadline (July 20, 2018)

Participation in the workshop is by application only. In order to maximize the number of projects discussed at the event, only one author per project will be able to attend. Interested scholars should submit an extended abstract (between 5 and 10 pages of text) of their project proposal by July 20, 2018 to Jason D. Shaw, Editor-in-Chief (jason.shaw@polyu.edu.hk). The abstract should describe the project, the intended theoretical contribution, the research design, the empirical approach, and the status of the project idea to date.
