    The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE), housed in Rowan's AACSB-Accredited William G. Rohrer College of Business, invites applications for a tenure-track (Assistant / Associate) Professor of Entrepreneurship. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative, growth-oriented faculty dedicated to building world-class degree programs and developing and disseminating impactful, thought-provoking scholarship at the highest levels. Rowan's undergraduate entrepreneurship programs were ranked among the Top 50 in the world by Princeton Review / Entrepreneur Magazine in 2022 and 2023. In 2019, and again in 2022, the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE) received AACSB Innovations that Inspire Awards. In 2021, RCIE received ICSB's Entrepreneurship Center Global Impact Award.  
     

    Rowan's entrepreneurship faculty have published in leading academic journals (ET&P, JOM, SBE, JSBM, FBR, JBR), held board positions and/or assumed leadership roles in leading academic organizations, and served as editors or on the editorial boards of top journals. Most have been actively engaged in their own entrepreneurial pursuits, involved with Rowan's $25M venture fund, and have been nationally recognized, award-winning educators.

    Enrollment in Rowan's B.S. in Entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary entrepreneurship minor have undergone exponential growth over the last five years. Looking forward, we are scaling multiple new degree and certificate programs, including: Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Creative Industries Entrepreneurship, Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Real Estate Entrepreneurship, Certificate of Undergraduate in Cannabis Entrepreneurship, Certificate of Graduate Study in Leading Innovative Organizations, Certificate of Graduate Study in Technology & Innovation, Certificate of Graduate Study in Corporate Entrepreneurship, and a Certificate of Graduate Study in Cannabis Commercialization.  

    The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications: 

    • A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or closely related field. 
    • An experiential approach to entrepreneurship education. 
    • A track record of excellence in scholarship consistent with rank. 
    • The ability to teach an array of entrepreneurship-specific courses. 
    • A reputation of being a collegial, collaborative team member. 

     

    Preferred qualifications include:  

    • An active research pipeline with outcomes demonstrating the ability to publish in high-profile (e.g., FT50, ABDC-/A, ABS3/4) journal outlets commensurate with rank.  
    • Research interests aligned synergistically with current Rowan entrepreneurship faculty. 
    • First-hand experience in launching a startup and/or serving on startup / non-profit boards of directors. 
    • Experience writing and securing grant funding for entrepreneurship and economic development research and programming.

    Rowan University's undergraduate entrepreneurship program is award-winning. Recognized by the Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 program in New Jersey for 2024 for 2024, it consistently ranks among the Top 50 nationally and Top 12 regionally, holding its position for 20222023, and 2024. For 2024, that study boosted the University's national ranking to #40 - a 10-place advancement in just three years.

This marked the third AACSB Innovations That Inspire award for the School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, with Studio 231 being recognized in 2019 as a champion of change in the landscape of business education, and the Think Like an Entrepreneur Summer Academy for high school students in 2022 for its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

     

    Rowan's entrepreneurship program has received global recognition. In 2024, the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE) was named one of five finalist universities from North and South America for America's Most Impactful Initiative of the Year award by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities. In 2021, it received the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Entrepreneurship Center Global Impact Award. The program also garnered significant accolades in 2019, including a Global Award for Entrepreneurship Education Excellence from ICSB and recognition as a finalist for the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship's National Model Entrepreneurship Program Award.
