The Department of Management in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (located in Morgantown, WV) invites applications for up to two Postdoctoral Fellow positions starting in August 2024. The initial appointment will be for one year, but it could be extended to two years, based on the availability of funds, performance of the employee, and the needs of the department. The position will involve research and teaching in entrepreneurship and related disciplines. In terms of research duties, the postdoc fellow will be expected to lead independent research projects and collaborate with faculty and doctoral students in the Management Department and the Chambers College with the goal of publications in reputed journals in entrepreneurship. There will be some financial support available for research expenses and conference travel. The postdoc fellow will be expected to teach four courses (12 credits total) in entrepreneurship and related areas in the academic year. The assignment of courses will be based on the teaching needs of the department and the qualifications/experience of the selected candidate. These courses could be across undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face, online, or hybrid) and might involve new course development. Candidates with a PhD in entrepreneurship and related fields (e.g., management or economics with a focus on entrepreneurship research) are encouraged to apply. Salary and benefits are appropriate for experience and qualifications. The position and start date are subject to budget approval.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must hold at the time of appointment a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship or a related field such as management, economics, and other disciplines that involve significant coursework and research relevant for entrepreneurship. PhD candidates in the advanced stages of their dissertation will also be considered but they should have earned their PhD degree before the start date of this position. West Virginia University (and The John Chambers College of Business and Economics) is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the excellence of the academic community.
