The Department of Community Development and Applied Economics (CDAE) at the University of Vermont is seeking an Assistant Professor for the Community Entrepreneurship undergraduate program. In this program, students gain a multi-disciplinary education that equips them with knowledge and mindset to tackle serious problems facing the world, especially those related to food systems, environmental sustainability, and community development. Using an immersive, learning-by-doing pedagogy, we train students in applied skills needed to launch and lead for-profit and non-profit ventures or become leaders driving innovation within existing organizations and institutions.
CDAE is a transdisciplinary department with graduate programs at the Masters and PhD level. The new Assistant Professor of Community and Social Entrepreneurship will develop a portfolio of work that balances teaching, research, advising, service, and community engagement. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct research in any field related to entrepreneurship, sustainability, and/or community development.
