Job Summary:
The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Business Administration invites applications for a non-tenure system faculty position in the Managerial Studies department. Located in the very heart of Chicago, UIC is Chicago's largest university and is a Tier 1 research institution. Non-tenure system faculty in the College of Business Administration teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in their field of expertise and provide service to their department, college, and/or campus. Additionally, non-tenure system faculty at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinical Professor make intellectual contributions to their discipline through basic or applied research, publishing in academic or professional outlets, and/or activities that translate disciplinary scholarship to a professional audience.
UIC's Managerial Studies Department offers undergraduate degrees in Management, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship, and teaches the integrated capstone course for all undergraduate students in the College of Business. In addition, the department teaches a large number of courses in the MBA programs, including courses in the new on-line MBA program.
The department seeks candidates passionate about teaching and promoting student success, preferably at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Effective teaching, incorporating current tools and methods, and engaging with industry are key to this role. Teaching areas of focus for the current opening: Entrepreneurship, Management, Strategic Management, and Managerial Consulting. Candidates with experience and interest in managing and guiding entrepreneurial ventures are encouraged to apply and make note of this experience. In addition, candidates who have experience with new and emerging data analysis tools in any teaching area should indicate this in their application.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
The position will encompass undergraduate and graduate teaching, service to the department, college and university, outreach to the business community and additional professional and/or academic activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for the position, candidates must have an earned doctorate or terminal degree in business or related field and a demonstrated record of professional or scholarly accomplishment is expected. Preference will be given to individuals with past experience teaching at a four-year college.
