The Accelerator Rap Challenge is based on the course that won the 2020 Academy of Management Innovation in Entrepreneurship Pedagogy for its anti-racist and constructionist approach. The Challenge is now a national contest, and undergrads from all US colleges and universities are invited to participate. What students from your school can expect from the Accelerator Rap Challenge:
The Accelerator Rap Challenge encourages teams of undergrads to create 2-minute animated music videos designed to help girls and kids of color see themselves in innovative entrepreneurial careers. Contestant will have access to experts and peers as they create their videos. Prizes will be awarded, and bragging rights will be earned. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in active learning about diversity in entrepreneurship, expand their networks, build creative and teamwork skills, and add an impressive media piece to their portfolios before graduation.
A virtual experience
All activities will be hosted on zoom and other online platforms. Students can participate from anywhere.
Arc of the contest
Prizes will be awarded to a winner in each of the five judging categories and to a winner overall.
Winning entries will be featured in a Film Festival hosted by the Penn State Arts and Design Research Incubator in Spring 2022.
The Challenge is made possible with support from the Anchor Point Foundation, the RSM Foundation, and other organizations interested in diversity in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
