Dear Colleagues:
You are cordially invited to attend a Caucus on Strategic Entrepreneurship titled :
Building Entrepreneurial Strategies: Setting a Future Agenda for Strategic Entrepreneurship Research on
Tuesday, Aug 13 2019 11:30AM - 1:00PM at The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Back Bay Room. The purpose of this caucus is to bring together a community of scholars interested in researching on the interface of strategy and entrepreneurship research. The caucus discussions, led by organizers and facilitators, will help gain inputs for future work in the strategic entrepreneurship area of research.
We are co-editing a Research Handbook on Strategic Entrepreneurship, and therefore the caucus will help generate idea and interest around the topic and collect valuable insights from scholars to be able to set the direction for the development of strategic entrepreneurship field. Through the caucus, we wish to rekindle a discussion around the nature of evolution of strategic entrepreneurship literature over the last few years, and set an agenda for coming years. The caucus agenda will keep in mind conceptual (theoretical) as well as empirical (methodological) issues that the field of strategic entrepreneurship faces. In terms of conceptual issues, possible topics include entrepreneurial leadership, firm growth, entrepreneurial strategies, and strategic entrepreneurial behavior, to name a few. In terms of empirical issues, possible topics will include measurement and scale development, endogeneity and causality, control variable usage, and qualitative research, to name a few. Broadly, the discussion therefore will be divided into following agenda points:
1.
Conceptual Issues in Strategic Entrepreneurship Research
2.
Methodological Issues in Strategic Entrepreneurship Research
The discussion is envisaged to be across two sub-groups that will look into each of these two issues in greater detail. Further, within each group, depending on the number of participants in the caucus, there may be more sub-groups looking at more specific topics.
The chapter contributors have been invited to the caucus to present their initial ideas and disseminate ideas from their respective chapters. The caucus discussions will help chapter contributors refine their ideas and improve their work further.
