    The Department of Public Management and Policy seeks a tenure-track assistant or associate professor with research interests in any area of public or nonprofit management to start in Fall 2021. Applicants should provide evidence of teaching and research excellence and of success or strong potential in sponsored research. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can contribute to the department's in-person and online teaching needs in public budgeting and financial management, or more general public and nonprofit management classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should also show a commitment to the department's mission of preparing a diverse population of students to become leaders in public service careers and see a place for themselves in the school's ongoing Digital Landscape initiatives which includes policy analytics and research on vulnerable populations and communities.
     
    The Department of Public Management and Policy focuses on four areas of excellence: management and finance of public and nonprofit organizationsnonprofit management and policyprogram evaluation and policy analysis; and economic development and urban policy. The Andrew Young School ranks 19th overall among graduate programs in public affairs in the US News rankings, as well as 4th in urban policy, 5th in public budgeting and finance, 7th in local government management, 10th in nonprofit management, 13th in public management and leadership, and 25th in public policy analysis. Located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia State University is one of the country's top urban public research universities and has one of the most diverse student bodies. US News calls GSU the 2nd most innovative university in the U.S. and ranks it 3rd in undergraduate teaching.
     
    The department offers a NASPAA-accredited MPA, as well as undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in public policy. The school's seven interdisciplinary policy research centers and location at the heart of a vibrant public and nonprofit sector, provide excellent opportunities for applied research that contributes to policy-making and management at all levels of government.
