    Welcome to the #SES2022 hybrid conference

    We are proud to present the SES2022 edition "New perspectives for Social Entrepreneurship in the new normal" to be held in a hybrid format: participation is possible online and on-site in Cochabamba, Bolivia. For two days, participants in the summit will discuss and present their ideas on how SEs initiatives are contributing to addressing the emerging challenges due to the current pandemic. We have seen that some SEs have rapidly adapted to change, while others couldn't cope with the pressure of the system due to a lack of resources and support. We would like to explore, discuss and reflect upon what is called the "new normal" and how do SEs are coping, transforming and adapting to be able to address the most pressing challenges of our society.

    At the summit, participants will benefit from the provoking talks of distinguished Keynote Speakers, as well as from direct contact with numerous social entrepreneurs at the social entrepreneurship fair. We are grateful for the support of our partners, especially our host institution in Bolivia, Universidad Mayor de San Simon. This summit also counts on the support of projects such as ELANET, SEfficiency and VLIR IUC in Bolivia.

    Who can participate?

    • Academics with research interest in Social Entrepreneurship;
    • University leaders (International Relations, Outreach, Community Engagement) with the main interest in the relationship between the university and local communities;
    • Students and professionals, with an interest in social entrepreneurship;
    • Social entrepreneurs and business representatives, currently working on all types of projects with a social or environmental impact;
    • Business leaders and practitioners with connections to Social Entrepreneurship and CSR;
    • Policymakers and other government agencies;
    • NGO's and other organizations with social/environmental projects;
    • Leaders from incubators, accelerators, coworking spaces, and innovation.

    How can you participate?

    • Academic Presentation:  All types of scientific research are welcome for presentation, including literature reviews; conceptual papers; case studies; qualitative and quantitative research;
    • Presentation of University Initiatives: We invite universities to present their exemplary cases on how to support/stimulate social entrepreneurship through teaching, research or outreach activities;
    • Practitioner's Presentation: We welcome social enterprises, practitioners and government officials to share their ideas and experience on the topic, by presenting their cases, and best practices and discuss their challenges with a broader audience to create awareness, establish new connections, and receive feedback;
    • Round Table Debates: We welcome proposals that would like to open up the debate on challenging topics in the support of social entrepreneurship;
    • Social Entrepreneurship Fair: At this fair, local social entrepreneurs will be presenting and selling their products.

    SES2022 is planned to be held as a hybrid conference. This means both, on-site in Cochabamba and online. We hope for favourable conditions to have the opportunity to meet in person and to host virtually those participants who are unable to travel. We will closely monitor the situation in Bolivia and communicate in due time, should our plans of hosting an onsite conference change.
