    Assistant Professor of Management

     

    The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Primary teaching responsibilities will be for our undergraduate capstone course in strategic management, with additional teaching possible at the MBA, Executive MBA, or doctoral level. 


    Qualifications: Candidates should have a doctorate in management or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed prior to start date. Teaching and research interests in strategic management are required. Candidates must have teaching experience and be able to teach our undergraduate capstone strategy course. Candidates should also have the ability to publish in top-tier peer reviewed academic journals and have an active research agenda. Research interests in strategic management, corporate and social responsibility, and/or sustainability align well with our School of Business focus, but this is not a requirement; we are open to candidates with research interests in all areas of strategy and macro aspects of entrepreneurship. Prior industry work experience and/or the interest and ability to cultivate connections with industry is a plus. A commitment to working with diverse students, faculty, and staff is required. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States. 

     

    About our Management and Entrepreneurship Department: The Management and Entrepreneurship Department offers an undergraduate major in Management with concentrations in business administration, entrepreneurship, and international business; an undergraduate major in Human Resource Management; and a Ph.D. in Business with a concentration in Management (OBHR). 


    Management faculty teach in the undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and Ph.D. programs. The Department has 13 full-time faculty who are active researchers and engaged teachers. Management faculty have published in leading journals including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Organizational Research Methods, Personnel Psychology, Psychological Bulletin, and Strategic Management Journal.


    About our School of Business: The School of Business has built strong ties with the Richmond community and beyond. Offering 13 bachelor's and 19 master's degrees, as well as three Ph.D. concentrations and seven certificate programs, we welcome nearly 4,000 students each year.
