    The Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship (DCE) at the Delft University of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer position in Technology-Based Entrepreneurship.

    Job description

    We are looking for a skilled and engaged Lecturer in Technology-Based Entrepreneurship. It is necessary that you have solid experience in teaching entrepreneurship and/or coaching student teams in validating and exploiting business opportunities. You are expected to develop new educational programmes on entrepreneurship, engage with the relevant stakeholders at the university and beyond, bring in guest practitioners (especially entrepreneurs), and acquire external funding for course development, startup ecosystem growth, or research projects. You are open minded with a clear disposition for technology-based entrepreneurship and you are an enthusiastic team player that will help Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship flourish and grow.

    Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following: expertise in IT & Computing with a focus on business applications, relevant PhD (e.g. Management, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc), a research track-record, and a knowledge of learning methods in entrepreneurship education.

    DCE courses play a pivotal role in developing entrepreneurial skills of engineering students and make solid contributions to entrepreneurial activity and technology transfer. The position is an opportunity for you to develop your knowledge in teaching entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial mindset to engineers, and to engage actively in a university-wide entrepreneurial ecosystem that includes research institutes, technology transfer office, and startup investors and incubators.

    About Us

    The Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship (DCE) is a part of the Technology Policy and Management Faculty and offers education across the faculties of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). DCE operates in a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. The entrepreneurship programs are at a bachelor, master and PhD level and serve approximately 800 students annually. We organize startup competitions, challenges, and events like inspirational lectures and panel discussions. Students from our programs who start companies find accommodation in Europe's largest tech-incubator YES!Delft and elsewhere. DCE currently employs eight FTEs active in education and research. 

    TU Delft is considered one of the top engineering schools worldwide. The centre works closely together with scientists, educators, entrepreneurs and policymakers across the university. Our partners include tech-incubator YES!Delft, TheGreenVillage, Valorisation Centre, and Delft Enterprises, among others. We work with industry, university, and policy-making partners on entrepreneurship-related projects on regional and international level as well. Examples include Leiden and Erasmus Medical Centres, AMS Institute, Delft Global, and EIT (Health, Digital, and Climate-KIC).

    What we offer

    TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, a discount for health insurance and sport memberships. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities Salary. Salary ranges between €2,709 and €4,978 gross per month, depending on experience and track record of the candidate. The compensation package includes pension fund scheme. Flexible work schedules can be arranged. An International Children's Centre offers childcare and an international primary school. Dual Career Services offers support to accompanying partners. Note that TU Delft sets high standards for the English competency of the teaching staff. University campus is located close to the Delft city centre. Delft is a mid-sized city in the west of the Netherlands between The Hague and Rotterdam. With its historic town centre, Delft is a home to some 22,000 engineering students.
