  • 1.  Emerging Scholars Award

The Emerging Scholars Award is part of an overall strategic initiative by the Entrepreneurship (ENT) Division of the Academy of Management (AOM) to encourage, reward, and provide research support for Emerging Scholars of the Entrepreneurship Division. The impetus for this initiative was the most recent AOM Survey, which indicated that emerging scholars are a large percentage of our membership and research considerations were important reasons for membership in the ENT Division.

The Emerging Scholars Award includes a $1,500 stipend (thanks to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation) along with recognition, visibility, and mentorship at AOM and through the NewsBlast, AOM Connect, and links to personal webpages and publications. Each year the division may present up to three Emerging Scholars Awards to deserving individuals.

The award winners will demonstrate an emerging record of scholarship that has the potential to make innovative and impactful contributions to the body of entrepreneurship research.

Eligible candidates must have received a Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2018 and must be members of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management.

Applications may consist of self-nominations or nominations from others in the field. For full consideration, applications must include a research statement (no longer than two single spaced pages) demonstrating how the applicant's previous work, work in progress, and future research goals have the potential to make significant contributions to the entrepreneurship literature.

Applications must be received by January 31, 2019. For more information, please contact Peter Klein at peter_Klein@baylor.edu.
