Tenure-track Assistant Professor

The Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in entrepreneurship or another field of business, with evidence of a strong interest in entrepreneurship research. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027. The position is subject to final approval by the Provost. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate thoughtful and innovative uses of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in their research methods and teaching.
About the Role
The Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business seeks an outstanding scholar for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We welcome applications from candidates across a broad range of academic disciplines. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation and a commitment to contributing to entrepreneurship education, research, and impact. Work with or in the area of emerging technologies (for example AI) and new methods are of particular interest.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain an active research program, contribute to graduate student supervision, teach and develop courses that fit to our portfolio at undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in service activities within the School, Faculty, University, and broader academic community.

Eligible candidates should have:
· A doctoral degree (or be near completion of a doctoral degree) in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business, Management, or a related discipline.
· Demonstrated potential to develop and sustain an active program of high-quality scholarly research.
· Evidence of research productivity commensurate with career stage, including publications, working papers, conference presentations, or other scholarly contributions.
· A commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
· An interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and entrepreneurial activity, broadly defined.
· The ability to contribute to an interdisciplinary academic environment and engage effectively with students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, including Engineering, Science, and related fields.
· The potential to supervise graduate students and contribute to the development of future scholars.
· Strong communication, collaboration, and collegiality skills, and a commitment to contributing positively to the Conrad School community.
Salary Range
The salary is competitive and will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, accomplishments, and demonstrated track record.
About the Conrad School
Located at the heart of one of the world's leading innovation ecosystems, the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business plays a central role in entrepreneurship and innovation education at the University of Waterloo. Conrad offers a wide range of programs, including the Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET), graduate diplomas in business and entrepreneurship, the E-Coop and BETS programs, and undergraduate entrepreneurship courses available to students across all six faculties.
