    About Us

    The University of Cincinnati (UC) is classified as a Doctoral University, Highest Research Activity, by the Carnegie Commission. The Lindner College of Business is part of a comprehensive research institution that is the second largest state university in Ohio, with a total enrollment of over 50,000 students. The College enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduates and 1,100 master's students (including online), and our programs are fully accredited by the AACSB. The Department has ten full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members as well as nine educator faculty in the areas of organizational behavior, strategy, international business, and entrepreneurship. We also have an active doctoral program that ranges from 40 to 50 students within the college and 6-9 students within the department. 

    Our faculty members are actively engaged in research and publish in the leading journals, including: Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Organizational Research Methods, and Strategic Management Journal. In addition to a strong research culture, our Department is committed to quality teaching.

    Job Overview

    The Department of Management of the University of Cincinnati's Lindner College of Business is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate faculty position in the area of organizational behavior, beginning in Fall 2024. Rank is commensurate with credentials.

    The Department is home to two active centers that provide faculty with opportunities for data collection and networking in these areas: The Center for Entrepreneurship and the Goering Center for Family and Private Business. Lindner's Center for Entrepreneurship is closely linked to the 1819 Innovation Hub and Digital Futures, which are part of the larger Cincinnati Innovation District, home to numerous Fortune 50/500 corporate partners. The College also houses the Warren Bennis Leadership Institute, which is the interdisciplinary home for leadership development at the University of Cincinnati. 

    Essential Functions

    The selected candidate will:

    ·         Conduct research and publish in the candidate's area of expertise;

    ·         Teach core and elective courses in areas related to their discipline in strategy and/or entrepreneurship such as business strategy, strategic management, MBA capstone,  management of innovation, corporate entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship capstone; and

    ·         Engage in service duties such as mentoring doctoral students and serving on departmental and college committees.

    Minimum Requirements

    Prior to start date of this position, all of the following are required:

    ·         PhD (doctorate) in Strategy or Entrepreneurship or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited university.  

    ·         Must have taught at least one course in Management or a related area at the undergraduate or graduate level.

    ·         Must demonstrate focused and productive research program with at least one publication and one other work in progress, each work concerning either strategy or entrepreneurship-related topics.
