Strategic Organization: Call for Co-editor Applications

  • 1.  Strategic Organization: Call for Co-editor Applications

    Posted 10-10-2024 22:24

Strategic Organization (SO) is inviting applications for at least two co-editors to expand its current team, consisting of Oliver Alexy, Charlotte Cloutier, David Gomulya, Matthew Kraatz, Caterina Moschieri, and Margarethe Wiersema, as well as Lorenzo Skade as Social Media Editor.

SO is a unique journal with a specific focus on the intersection of strategy and organization theory. The journal is methodological agnostic, and features a long-standing "one-major-revision only" development review process (see more on our website). Our current (2023) two-year impact factor is 5.2, which is on par with other leading journals aiming to advance theory in this area.

We invite applications from qualified candidates across all methodologies common to strategy and organization scholarship. We would love to expand our team by at least one member with a qualitative and one with a quantitative focus; we are also strongly interested in appointing co-editors with deep knowledge of experimental or simulation methods, or conceptual work. Topic-wise, we are open to any specialization that meets the definition of strategic organization; that said, given the tradition of the journal and the submissions we receive, we would particularly welcome additional expertise in the broad areas of strategy-as-practice, the behavioral theory of the firm, sustainability and CSR, or digital transformation and platform ecosystems.

We encourage interested candidates to reach out informally to strategic.organization@mgt.tum.de or any current co-editor. Formal applications should be submitted to the same address before November 10, 2024, and include a cover letter explaining your interest to join our team and a short CV detailing in particular your publishing, reviewing, and editorial experience. Appointments will be made following conversations with members of the current editorial team. Aided by hands-on training, new co-editors will officially commence their role by mutual agreement over the course of 2025.

We are very much looking forward to your applications!

The SO Editorial Team: Oliver Alexy, Charlotte Cloutier, David Gomulya, Matthew Kraatz, Caterina Moschieri, Margarethe Wiersema
