The department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition conducts research on the incentives, determinants and implications of innovation and entrepreneurship processes, as well as their behavioral foundations. It is headed by Prof Dietmar Harhoff, PhD.
We are seeking a Senior Research Fellows/Postdocs (m/f/d) in Management / Economics of Innovation effective immediately.
- The term is up to 3 years.
- The expected start date is January 2026, deviations are possible.
- There are no teaching obligations.
- There is no tenure-track.
- The gross salary is based on the German Labor Agreement for Public Service (TVöD).
- Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in management, business administration, economics or a related field by the end of the year they start their employment.
Researchers at the Institute are expected to independently carry out basic research in the fields of
- Innovation (with a possible focus on intellectual property rights, digitalization and innovation, origins and impact of AI, science of science, organization of innovation processes, innovation policy, innovation addressing grand challenges)
- Entrepreneurship (e.g., entrepreneurial finance, start-up acceleration, entrepreneurship education, social and inclusive entrepreneurship)
- Behavioral Foundations (e.g., incentives for creativity, innovation motives and behavior, inventor characteristics)
