The Davis College of Business & Technology at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL, is hiring for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Sport Business and Management beginning Fall 2024. The individual hired for this position must be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Business and Management. Teaching responsibilities will include courses such as Introduction to Sport Business, Facility and Event Management, and Sport Business Strategy. Depending on area of expertise, the preferred candidate will also be qualified to teach management courses such as organizational behavior or strategic management. The teaching load is typically three courses per semester and may include face-to-face, hybrid and/or online deliveries in undergraduate, Master's, and/or Doctoral-level programs. In addition to teaching responsibilities, engagement in scholarly academic intellectual activities that result in high-quality peer reviewed publications is required. Research interest in sport and/or management is desired. The individual will also be responsible for student advising and mentorship, contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes, and engaging in other service activities. It is expected that the individual chosen for this position will possess a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated ability or capacity to produce quality scholarly academic research, and a commitment to involvement in service that advances the university or the profession. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication and collaboration skills and a commitment to building a diverse and inclusive work and classroom environment.
