This is a reminder that there is less than a month left to submit your chapter proposal for the upcoming Handbook of Sustainable Business Model Innovation, to be published in the Edward Elgar Business and Management Handbooks series.

This handbook aims to provide a comprehensive resource for academics and researchers on transforming business models to address urgent environmental, social, and economic challenges.

    Handbook Themes

We invite both empirical and conceptual chapter proposals that address the theoretical foundations, practical applications, and future directions of Sustainable Business Model Innovation (SBMI). Contributions are welcome across four main themes:

    • Theoretical Underpinnings of SBMI: Exploring the theories that have shaped the evolution of SBMI, such as stakeholder theory, systems thinking, institutional theory, and others.
    • Conceptual Approaches and Typologies of SBMI: Examining frameworks like circularity, regenerative business, resilience, inclusive growth, and responsible innovation.
    • SBMI in Practice: Investigating the challenges, enablers, and impact of implementing SBMI, including the role of digital technologies, corporate governance, and financing.
    • SBMI in Context: Analyzing how SBMI manifests across different contexts, such as start-ups, SMEs, MNEs, and especially within the Global South.
