Poverty and Entrepreneurship Research Conference at Notre Dame

Is entrepreneurship a pathway out of poverty? The answer is "it can be, but it depends." Scholarship at the intersection of poverty and entrepreneurship has attempted to determine exactly what it depends upon. The research has expanded significantly over the past 12 or so years, offering promising insights. Research has been showing that poverty is more than a lack of income, and that entrepreneurship is more than income generation, serving as a vehicle for empowerment and community transformation.

The University of Notre Dame, under the auspices of the Urban Poverty and Business Initiative (UPBI) and the Global Partnership for Poverty and Entrepreneurship (GPPE), together with the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University, are pleased to invite attendees and submissions to the first annual Poverty and Entrepreneurship Research Conference. The one-day conference, on the beautiful Notre Dame campus, features keynote speakers and developmental paper presentations on the interface of poverty and entrepreneurship.

Registration fees are $175 for faculty; $125 for graduate students and postdocs.
