Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Management
The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business. According to the 2024 US News and World Report Global University Ranking, PolyU is ranked 67th in the Best Global Universities and 30th in the Best Universities for Economics and Business (6th in Asia). The University of Texas at Dallas ranks our faculty's research 41st in the world and 5th in Asia (as of March 2024).
MM currently has around 70 full-time academic staff who are dedicated to providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business - Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems. We offer a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Business Administration. Our doctoral program has successfully placed our PhD students in elite institutions in Asia and Australia, including Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, City University of Hong Kong, Renmin University, and Deakin University.
The Management discipline invites applications for open-ranked faculty positions in the OBHR and Strategic Management areas. The faculty members in the Management discipline of MM regularly publish their research in top-tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes and other premier outlets. Our research support includes a reduced teaching load in the first three years, generous start-up grant, and considerate administrative services.
The department has a collegial environment. Currently the OBHR team includes Wu Liu, Michael Bond, Krishna Savani, Yi (Amy) Ou, Jia (Katrina) Lin, Jun (Melody) Zhang, Ren Li, Seunghoo Chung, Mannok Wong, Zhishuang (Olivia) Guan, Jingfeng Yin, Rujiao (Helene) Cao, and Abhishek Sheetal; the Strategic Management team includes Chinien Chung, Shuping Li, Xueyong Zhan, Robert Wright, Qi Zhu, Juyoung Lee, Hang-Jun Cho, Junghyun Mah, Qinyu (Ryan) Wang, and Xinhao (Jamie) Qiao.

The appointee will be required to (a) engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise; (b) supervise research students; (c) secure external competitive research grants; (d) teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.
Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it. Preference will be given to those with a focused research orientation and the potential or demonstrated ability to publish in high quality scholarly journals.
Conditions of Service
The compensation package, teaching loads, and research support are highly competitive. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor / Professor levels.
