Addressing the "spatial turn" in entrepreneurship research: new dimensions and emerging issues – PDW

Saturday, July 26, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
    @ Bella Center, Hall B- B0-m5

If you are an entrepreneurship scholar engaging with space and place in your research or seeking new research ideas to explore space and place as a conceptual framing or empirical phenomenon, join us for our PDW at the AOM meeting in Copenhagen, where we will bring together experts on space in various areas of entrepreneurship research.

This PDW is divided into two parts.

    Part 1: Presentation from Panelists
First, five leading panelists will give brief presentations on their conceptual and methodological approaches to studying space, as well as opportunities for future research on space and entrepreneurship.

During this session, you'll be inspired by expert panelists, including:
    • Sunasir Dutta (Carlson School of Management)
    • Eliana Crosina (Babson College)
    • Friederike Welter (University of Siegen)
    • Boukje Cnossen (University Leuphana)
    • Stefan Haefliger (Stockholm Business School)

    Part 2: Roundtable Discussions
In the second part, we invite you to join small-group roundtable discussions based on shared theoretical or empirical interests. In these sessions, we'll explore how to conceptualize and empirically examine 'space,' develop research questions, and review reading lists. These discussions are open to anyone actively working in this field or interested in starting a new line of research on 'spatiality.' We'll be covering a range of topics, including organizational spaces, interstitial spaces, urban and rural spaces, incubators and coworking spaces, and digital spaces.

Roundtable discussions are led by panelists and excellent facilitators:
    • Thomas Davis (Manchester Metropolitan University)
    • Laura Dupin (University of Amsterdam)
    • Adam Frost (Southern Denmark University)
    • Shuang Frost (Aarhus University)
