Meet us on Saturday, August 1, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET (GMT-4/UTC-4) at the Marriott, Room 405 – Level 4.
Dear colleagues,
Many early career scholars produce strong and meaningful research, yet often receive little guidance on how to communicate their work effectively within and beyond academia. Developing an academic voice is increasingly important for building visibility, credibility, and broader research impact.
This is where our PDW comes into play:
This PDW addresses these challenges by focusing on academic speaking, scholarly identity, and communication strategies across different professional contexts.
Across two interactive hours, we will discuss:
• Building credibility and visibility within academia
• Navigating conferences, networking, and scholarly communities
• Communicating research to practitioners, policymakers, and broader audiences
• Strengthening confidence in academic speaking and professional presence
The workshop combines panel discussions, interactive audience participation, small-group discussions, and practical networking exercises designed to provide directly applicable insights and tools.
We are delighted to be joined by an outstanding panel of international scholars:
• Christina Theodoraki – IAE Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management
• Jan-Philipp Ahrens – University of Mannheim
• Isabel C. Botero – University of Louisville
• Kimberly A. Eddleston – Northeastern University
• Nele Terveen – University of Auckland Business School
• Saulo Dubard Barbosa – emlyon business school
The PDW is open to all AOM attendees, and no registration is required. However, due to room capacity restrictions, those who register in advance will receive priority seating. You are also welcome to submit questions for the panelists in advance:
