Dear Colleagues
As we approach the end of 2023, we would like to bring to your attention the last two issues published by Industry and Innovation.
Issue 30(09) is a Special Issue on Innovation Dynamics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, edited by Jacob R. Holm, Daniel S. Hain, Roman Jurowetzki and Eward Lorenz. It starts with an Editorial by the Guest Editors and continues with four original articles on AI-related topics.
Issue 30(10) closes the year that marks the 30th anniversary of the journal. To mark this special occasion, it includes its very first Target Article by Gary Dushnitsky, J.P. Eggers, Chiara Franzoni and Florenta Teodoris, a call for scholarly reflection on the role of randomization as a tool for organizational decision-making, inspired by their heated debate held at the DRUID 2023 conference. This issue also includes the very first Interview Article published by Industry and Innovation, in which Gianluca Biggi – one of the Social Media Editors of the journal – interviews the winners of the 2021 Industry and Innovation Best Paper Award. Also in this issue, you will find three original articles addressing how firms use the externalization of labor as a strategic response to temporary shocks, how incumbent firms induce crises for latecomer firms, and new evidence on the innovation impacts of skilled workers' mobility.
Industry and Innovation wishes you all a great wrap-up of 2023 and happy holidays. We hope you will enjoy the reading!
Kind regards,
Alessandra Perri and Vera Rocha
