The Department of Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University seeks to hire a tenured Associate or Full Professor of Sustainability and Entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship is one of the central pillars of the Syracuse University and Whitman School academic strategic plans, as demonstrated by the presence of the standalone academic Department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises (EEE). The EEE Department offers degree programs in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Its educational programs and research productivity are consistently ranked among the best in the United States, including recently being ranked #3 globally in the TCU Entrepreneurship Research Productivity rankings. Among other accolades, the EEE program received the USASBE National Model Program Award in 2018. EEE faculty are highly research active and publish regularly in leading entrepreneurship and management journals.
By building on the substantial progress made by the Whitman School, the successful candidate will pursue and promote a progressive research agenda that advances both sustainability and entrepreneurship, while also contributing to ongoing research and teaching efforts within the School and among its community partners. In this regard, the successful candidate will benefit from the enthusiastic support of a team of outstanding faculty, students, administrative colleagues, and alumni and friends of the Whitman School and Syracuse University. This individual will play a key role in the Certificate of Advanced Study in Sustainable Enterprise (CASSE) program, an award-winning, transdisciplinary initiative of the Sustainable Enterprise Partnership (SEP) that links the resources of the Whitman School with the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy systems, the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and other emerging sustainability-related programming on campus.
Successful candidates will have a proven record of excellence in scholarship and teaching, and meet the standards for tenure at Syracuse University. The Whitman School and the EEE department are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching, research, and service towards building a collegial, equitable and diverse scholarly environment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
