2025 AOM ENT Division Call for Applicants

Early Career Development Consortium, Academy of Management Annual Meeting

Join the Entrepreneurship Division for this year's Early Career Development Consortium (ECDC) during the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in Copenhagen. We plan on holding this in-person consortium only on Friday (July 25th). However, this is subject to change based on the Academy's Scheduling.

The consortium has two main components.

    1)      Main consortium session (9.00 AM – 1.00 PM) on July 25th

    2)      Evening Social (~5:30 PM).

The Early Career Development Consortium (ECDC) is specifically designed to meet the needs of those scholars who are early in their careers, such as tenure-track assistant professors (pre-tenure packet submission). If you are still completing your PhD, we encourage you to consider joining the Doctoral Consortium instead or to apply for the ECDC slightly later. Additionally, this consortium will focus on issues of most significant concern for pre-tenure assistant professors at least two years post-Ph.D. Therefore, priority will be given to applicants who meet these criteria. As a part of the application process, we solicit topics/questions at the top of participants' minds to maximize the program's customization to your needs.

The format for the consortium is intimate and interactive (small group discussions, personalized Q&A, etc.), where we pair small groups of attendees with mentors. Leading entrepreneurship scholars (serving as mentors) will interact with participants, guiding the discussion that will include practical advice to help early-stage academics manage the pre-tenure phase of their careers. The goal of this format is also to allow participants to ask specific questions, meet with and interact with individuals in similar situations, and develop relationships with other participants that (we hope) will continue to be beneficial as they move through their careers. Some examples of specific topics include building a successful research pipeline, navigating the publication process, and developing a reputation within a given field.

Some of our expert mentors include Denis Gregoire, Eliana Crosina, Aaron Anglin, Nikki Breugst, Tom Allison, Ute Stephan, Sofia Johan, and Dan Lerner, to name a few!

The consortium is coordinated by Marcus Wolfe (University of North Texas) and Anand Titus (University of Nebraska).

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 AOM Entrepreneurship Early Career Consortium. To apply to the consortium, please complete the following form. We are accepting applications immediately and will continue receiving applications until May 30, 2025.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Marcus Wolfe (marcus.wolfe@unt.edu).

    Thank you!
