Call for Workshop Applications: Conducting Contextualized Entrepreneurship Research Using GEM Data

The Academy of Management Entrepreneurship Division Global Scholar Development Committee, in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), is hosting a workshop titled Conducting Contextualized Entrepreneurship Research Using GEM Data on February 25, 2026, at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. Participants will hear a keynote from GEM scholars and receive feedback on their research. The workshop will begin at 9:30a.m. CST and last two hours. Non-GEM members will participate virtually.

We invite scholars to submit extended abstracts to receive feedback. We welcome submissions that demonstrate strong theoretical grounding, methodological rigor, and clear contributions to global entrepreneurship scholarship, particularly research addressing how entrepreneurial phenomena vary across economic, cultural, and institutional contexts using GEM data. Proposals may be either completed research papers that have utilized GEM data for analysis, or research projects at the idea stage that seek to explore the possibility of using GEM data.

Selected participants will receive mentoring from leading GEM scholars and engage in peer learning through structured discussions. Scholars are invited to submit a 3–5 page abstract outlining the research problem, theoretical background, methodology, and expected contributions by February 8, 2026
