Dear colleagues,
We invite you to submit a research proposal to our upcoming Professional Development Workshop at the 2026 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.
Where Is Impact? Theoretical and Empirical Advancements in Entrepreneurship Research
Entrepreneurship research has produced rich accounts of impact at the individual level, in communities, and through systems change. However, these conversations have taken shape in parallel and limited our understanding of impact as a multi-level phenomenon. Our PDW "Where Is Impact? Theoretical and Empirical Advancements in Entrepreneurship Research" aims to bridge these conversations and advance the scholarly debate on integrative, multi-level theorizing in entrepreneurship research.
The PDW has two parts: an interactive panel open to all, followed by paper development roundtables for pre-registered participants. The roundtables will provide participants with an opportunity to receive developmental feedback on their research projects from senior scholars and peers.
Panel Speakers:
Andreana Drencheva, King's College London
Gorgi Krlev, ESCP Business School
Susana Santos, Florida State University
Garima Sharma, American University
Ike Uzuegbunam, Howard University
Organizers:
Aynur Nabiyeva, University of St. Thomas
Heatherjean MacNeil, Northeastern University
We welcome proposals on topics including, but not limited to:
- Impact entrepreneurship and value creation
- Entrepreneurship and systems change
- Social entrepreneurship and community entrepreneurship
- Multi-level theorizing in entrepreneurship
If your work sits at the intersection of impact (broadly defined) and entrepreneurship, we'd love to have you in the room!
