    CALL FOR PROPOSALS
ENT Historian Patrick J. Murphy (U. of Alabama at Birmingham)
Greetings, ENT Division colleagues. Jerome Katz (St. Louis U.), Luke Pittaway (Ohio U.), and Andrew Corbett (Babson) and I are editing a new book for Edward Elgar focused on the "History of Entrepreneurship Education in the US."

We are seeking chapter authors. The book will include a collection of edited chapters (~5,000 words each) celebrating, chronicling, and examining the US's rich and significant history in entrepreneurship education (EE).

We welcome contributions reflecting many perspectives and themes, including small business management education, new venture creation, agricultural extension, franchising, social entrepreneurship, and family businesses.  Institutional histories at individual universities and other institutions (e.g., ICSB, SBIDA, USASBE, CEO, Kauffman Foundation, Enactus, etc.) are also welcome.  The book will also feature histories of US-originated practices (e.g., business planning, lean/MVP approaches, small business consulting, and more).

If you are interested or have questions, then email any or all of the Editors (pjmurphy@uab.edu; acorbett@babson.edu; pittaway@ohio.edu; jerome.katz@slu.edu).  We are aiming to collect 200-300-word rough summary of proposed topics.  We intend to receive draft full chapters by January 31, 2027.

This book is the second volume of a three-part series.  Volume 1 (UK EE history) will be published in summer 2026. The future Volume 3 will focus on European EE history.

    Sincerely,
    Patrick J. Murphy
    ENT Historian
