Where: University of New Brunswick, Canada
    When: April–August 2026
We invite highly motivated, research-driven PhD students to apply for five (120-day-long) visiting scholar positions in the REDDY Research Incubator at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). This initiative offers an intensive, collaborative research environment focused on advancing scholarly understanding of Generative AI and its implications for High-Tech Entrepreneurship.
    Program Focus
Participants will join a small research group led by Serghei Musaji and work closely with a cohort of top-tier doctoral students. The goal is to design and execute a research "hackathon" aimed at producing at least one high-potential paper suitable for submission to FT50 journals.
Example research directions include (but are not limited to):
    • Shifts in entrepreneurial decision-making logics (e.g., balance of causation vs. effectuation) under GenAI.
    • Accelerated hypothesis formulation and testing enabled by AI.
    • New pathways for rapid MVP development through AI-assisted prototyping.
    • The role of AI agents in speeding go-to-market processes.
    • Implications of GenAI for fundraising dynamics and investor evaluation.
    • Broader consequences of AI-enabled productivity for early-stage entrepreneurial strategy.
    • High-tech entrepreneurship on geographical peripheries.
    Additional Opportunities
Beyond the primary research agenda, students may also:
    • Engage with Prof. Musaji on topics relevant to their own dissertations.
    • Receive guidance aimed at strengthening their ongoing projects.
    • Potentially teach or co-teach a Summer course (subject to availability), which can provide additional financial flexibility.
    Funding
Should you be selected, the program provides solid financial support that should cover a large portion of travel expenses including:
    • Round-trip airfare to New Brunswick, Canada.
    • Shared housing for the participants, with support in securing accommodations.
    • Coverage for key living expenses (e.g., food, phone plan, local transportation)
This support is intended to allow participants to focus fully on research output and scholarly development.
    Location
UNB is located near some of Canada's warmest beaches, known for the highest tides in the world and access to beautiful natural surroundings. While the program is research-intensive, participants will also have opportunities to explore the region and benefit from a balanced, enjoyable stay.
    Eligibility
    Ideal candidates:
    • Are PhD students at top-ranked Business/Management programs.
    • Have completed their comprehensive exams.
    • Are able and eager to produce high-quality research drafts within weeks.
    • Possess strong collaborative skills and a commitment to making effective use of their own-and others'-time.
Quantitative and qualitative researchers are equally welcome.
    Application Instructions
    If interested, please submit:
    1. A one-page motivation letter explaining:
    • Your interest in Generative AI and high-tech entrepreneurship.
    • Whether/how the topic connects to your dissertation or current research.
    • Specific ideas you could pursue during the program (keep it concrete and academically focused).
    1. Your CV
Send both documents to smusaji@unb.ca with the subject line:
    REDDY Research Incubator
Applications should be submitted by December 25, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a virtual interview to assess their eligibility and fit. Successful candidates will then be invited to complete a formal enrollment application and receive further instructions.
