    The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Iona University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2023. We seek candidates with a focus on entrepreneurship & innovation, with a specialization in social entrepreneurship and/or social innovation.

    Faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level, work within a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment of entrepreneurship educators, pursuing an original research agenda (which may include applied and educational research), and engage in service activities. In addition, the candidate will work closely with the team and at the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation on developing and supporting curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities for Iona students. The successful candidate will be committed to the academic success of all Iona University students and to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diversity and differences.

    Applications should include a formal letter of interest indicating teaching and research interests, a CV, a teaching statement, and at least three academic references.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Candidates must have earned (or completed the requirements for) a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship, innovation, design, psychology, sociology, public policy, or a closely related field before August 2023.
    • Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
    • Evidence of academic, applied or educational research in social entrepreneurship and/or social innovation.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic suburban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.

    The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation was established in 2017 through a record-setting $15 million gift from James P. Hynes 69, 01H and Anne Marie Hynes.
