I'm excited to invite you to the following Panel Symposium at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia!
Quo Vadis? Future Directions for Research on Industry Shaping
📅 Monday, August 3
🕒 3:00–4:30 PM
📍 Philadelphia Marriott Downtown – Level 4, Room 408
Research on how firms shape the industries and environments in which they operate has grown rapidly over the past decade. Yet important questions remain regarding how we conceptualize endogenous shaping, integrate different theoretical perspectives, and advance empirical research in this area.
This panel brings together an outstanding group of scholars to reflect on the current state of the field and discuss promising directions for future research on industry shaping and the co-evolution of firms and their environments.
Panelists:
• Gino Cattani (New York University)
• Constance Helfat (Dartmouth College)
• Emily Cox Pahnke (University of Washington)
• Violina Rindova (University of California, Irvine)
• Natalya Vinokurova (Lehigh University)
Organizers: Charlotte Jacobs (Louisiana State University) and Mana Heshmati (University of Washington)
Whether you are already working on industry shaping, market creation, ecosystem evolution, or broader questions of strategic change, we hope you will join us for what promises to be an engaging discussion.
We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia!
