The 7th INSEAD Doriot Entrepreneurship Conference (IDEC)
16th and 17th December 2025, Abu Dhabi

Entrepreneurship & innovation, private capital and family enterprises have become very active research topics in organization theory and strategy, spurred by interest in the birth of new industries, the rejuvenation of existing industries through new technologies or markets, new ways of organizing and so forth. Much research on these topics addresses a broad theoretical agenda that is also relevant to organization theorists and strategists, such as its insights on new organizational populations, the effectiveness of new venture strategies, and organization design approaches. It is the goal of IDEC to stimulate further research in these and related areas.
We are seeking high-quality submissions employing diverse theoretical perspectives and methods, exploring a broad range of entrepreneurship & innovation, private capital and family business related phenomena. Non-exhaustive examples of entrepreneurship & innovation phenomena include organizational founding, strategy-setting, resource mobilization, leadership and team dynamics in new ventures. Likewise, private capital market phenomena include the matching of private capital organizations (VC, Private Equity etc.) with start-ups, scale-ups and family enterprises. Finally, family business phenomena include succession planning in existing family businesses, the emergence of family-controlled organizations from Founder-led new ventures, the structure and conduct of family offices and so forth.

3. Acceptance Notification: August 2025
4. Submission Requirement: 5-page abstract, plus up to two pages for references, in Microsoft Word format.
5. Presentation Requirement: Authors will be required to submit a full manuscript by November 5th 2025, so that the discussant has ample time to provide comments.
