Objectives
This course's purpose is to introduce learners to the subject of social entrepreneurship with a focus on how social entrepreneurs influence and effect change in order to achieve sustainable development goals. The specific objectives of the program are as follows:
- Be exposed to social entrepreneurship, successful cases, significant players, discourses, organizations, theories, and tools currently in use.
- Participants can create and demonstrate ways of recognizing social opportunities, mobilizing resources, managing risks, scaling impact, and sustaining viable ventures.
- Participants can assess the skills required for a future career in the field of social entrepreneurship and are aware of their social responsibility
Type and number of participants:
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Social Work, Business, Management, research scholars, academicians, professionals, aspiring and budding entrepreneurs, consultants, members of government and non-government organizations and all others who are interested in this workshop.

Resource Person:
Dr. Ambati Nageswara Rao is an Assistant Professor of Social Work, Former Dean, Research and Publication Division, GNLU, and Director of GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. He has over ten years of teaching and research experience at GNLU. He holds a Ph.D. from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (2012). His teaching and research experience areas include Social Entrepreneurship, Research Methodology, Human Resource Management, and Disability Studies. He was a visiting Research Fellow at Freie University, Berlin, Germany, visiting faculty at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, Ahmedabad, and Visiting faculty at Ganpat University, Mehsana. He has more than 20 research paper publications in social entrepreneurship and disability studies. Some of his articles are published with SAGE, Wiley, Routledge, Elsevier, Rawat, etc. He has conducted various training programs on social entrepreneurship. The following are the current programs organized by him:
- Advanced Training Program on Young Women Social Entrepreneurship Development Program funded by British Council
- Advanced Training Program on Social Entrepreneurship at GNLU
- AICTE Five Day Faculty Development Program on Social Entrepreneurship Management
- ICSSR funded the international conference on Building Social Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for Sustainable Development
In addition, he has done seven research and consultancy projects funded by various organizations, including the British Council, NCPCR, Legal Department, Government of Gujarat, MHRD, NCERT, ICSSR, AICTE, MGNCRE, etc. The projects are mainly focused on 'The Role of Social Entrepreneurship in the Contribution of Inclusive Development' and 'Social Entrepreneurship Education for Sustainable Development'.
