    Dear all,

I have been lurking on this discussion with some interest.
A couple months ago I co-founded with a couple others an altmetric platform with the mission of democratizing the evaluation of research knowledge. We let everybody rate (the abstracts of) articles post-publication, as the initial means in stimulating greater amounts of scholarly communication (between scholars, and with the public).
Of course, a major objection could be that the "Average Joe" has no business to rate academic research. But we believe that big data and data analytics is at a point now where we can have our cake and eat it too: just let everybody rate, and then let users parse the data as they wish (i.e. via Linkedin bios) -- this is still under development.
Because we treat post-publication rating as a way for users to learn about academic research, and let users reset their ratings on any paper they wish whenever they want, we get closer to a platform that Jerry is talking about -- a platform that can more dynamically rate/assess the value or importance of research. We also offer a way for researchers to compare their tastes in knowledge with each other.
The platform is totally free to use, and we have almost 4 million abstracts on hand covering all research areas -- not just entrepreneurship!

The UX is (we think!) aesthetically pleasing, a bit reminiscent of the "hotornot.com" UX from the early 2000's. Ever since launching a couple months ago, we have been looking for the best use cases. Of course I have a full-time job as a prof too.
As you'll see if you check it out, we are in "beta." (On that note, I'm grateful to Peter Klein and Dan Elfenbein for their input or help with beta testing!)
For now, with an IP-specializing law firm on retainer, we've determined that we are law-abiding. :)

We welcome you to take a look: https://knowledgeworthy.org
If you'd rather read a "1-pager" instead that describes our vision and UX, please consider looking at https://www.scireach.org/listing/knowledgeworthy/

    Cheers, -chihmao.

I have an idea for an experiment. 2017 was the 70th anniversary of the first entrepreneurship course, so there is somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 years of writing on entrepreneurship. If we
limit ourselves to say, the first 30 years (1947-1977) what are the hidden gems that emerged, and how did a person decide to nominate such a paper? If there are some that emerge that people say, "Yeah, that was a
good one!" and they have low citation counts, we might be able to backtrack techniques to find notable but relatively uncited papers. If no one has any, that's got to raise some question about what we're trying to look for.

    Dear all,
I have been lurking on this discussion with some interest.
A few months ago I co-founded with a couple others an altmetric platform with the mission of democratizing the evaluation of knowledge.
The UX is a bit reminiscent of the "hotornot.com" UX from the early 2000's.
Some people in this discussion have mentioned stuff like a tournament-style assessment process or a more dynamic measure of assessment (Jerry?).

That is a great one, Tom! GLS Shackle too. My mentor, Al Shapero had a couple. The original Kilby "Heffalumps" (a chapter?)

Of course, we might want to look at those compendia like "Art of Science of Entrep", etc. Some chapters today are painful to read but others still speak to me.

Good Morning from Europe to your corners of the world! Hi Norris, hi Chihmao

Thanks for the LoopMe plug, Norris!

Chihmao and I actually met in November at Qatar Foundation's WISE summit where I heard of Knowledge Worthy for the first time and we got to chat about LoopMe too - great stuff!

Looking forward to continue the conversation,
    best,
    Rebecca
