The University of Alabama is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure track position in Arts Entrepreneurship through our Interdisciplinary Studies program in New College. The ad is posted at the Chronicle here: https://chroniclevitae.com/jobs/0000399852-01. We want to include candidates from a pool as diverse, equitable, and inclusive as we can for this search.

This Arts Entrepreneurship position is a tenure track post designed to help students bridge the gap between traditional Fine Art and traditional Entrepreneurship. That is, where most BFA programs teach lessons in Technique, Craft, and History, New College seeks a practitioner / scholar conversant both in creative practice and entrepreneurial practice. We want students from a range of backgrounds (e.g., nonprofit management, community arts, art therapy, music, entrepreneurship, arts administration) to learn from someone who can teach them lessons about how to take creative practice into relevant marketplaces.

John Miller is heading the search committee, He can be reached at (205) 348-2642, by cell at (205) 515-1766, or by email at mille031@ua.edu if you have any questions.

Thank you for your consideration and kind regards,

    Craig E. Armstrong, Ph.D.

    Associate Professor, Management
