  • 1.  Suggestions for Creativity Exercise(s)

    Posted 12-12-2017 09:39

    Dear Colleagues:

I am looking for suggestions for short exercises designed to teach participants how to act creatively (e.g., opportunity recognition exercises, number of creative ideas, etc.). The exercise will be included as part of my doctoral student's data collection efforts.

Ideally the exercise would take around 10 minutes to complete. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Best,

    Jeff McNally, Ph.D.

    Dear Jeff & all Patrons,

I am thankful to each one of you for your inputs in the community on time to time basis, as act as eye opener. As Visiting professor for Entrepreneurship & Marketing I often conduct lectures on Creative - Thinking Techniques for Entrepreneurship class which I also use in flagship program called "Lean Campus Startup" (Ideally helpful in opportunity recognition, idea generation, etc.)  for Management colleges in collaboration with their Entrepreneurship Cells across India. These exercises were designed by Kimberly M. Green (Published in Journal of business cases & application volume 12 - October 2014). They are fun filled which involve the audience for 5 - 10 minutes.

I hope you find them interesting and resourceful.

Kindly let me know, if you receive data about this topic.

    Thank you,

    Best,

    Jeff,

EIX (https://eix.org/) is a great place to find a number of exercises that may fit your criteria.

Look at www.EIX.org for the "Becoming da Vinci" exercise by Kathleen Allen. It is a great exercise on creativity.

Hi there, USASBE has created and supports a great exchange site for syllabi and experiential exercises - www.trepedhelp.com.  It's free to use for anyone.  You have to create an account if you want to upload either, which everyone should do.

There is a lot of wisdom in this crowd.  Why not put your good exercises and syllabi in a place that others can benefit?
