    POSITION: The Farmer School of Business and the Institute for Entrepreneurship at Miami University invites applications for Assistant Director of Entrepreneurship in the Institute for Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business. The Assistant Director will have a range of responsibilities related to advancing the teaching, research, and service activities of the Entrepreneurship program and the Institute for Entrepreneurship. These activities will include assisting in one or more of the Entrepreneurial Verticals (StartUp, Social, Corporate and Creativity/Innovative Entrepreneurship). In addition, the position may assist with functions and events that involve all of the Institute for Entrepreneurship which may include curriculum, marketing/communication, recruiting/retention, internships and success measurement collection. Responsibilities include: developing new programmatic activities; building further on existing programmatic activities such as lecture series and workshops; increasing engagement with Miami alumni founders, funders and advisors of organizations focused in entrepreneurship; assisting in research activities in entrepreneurship; directing activities related to all financial matters (invoicing, collecting, and managing) and for all financial matters of developing and executing grants; pursuing external funding through grant writing; improving our external communications; and developing activities in creativity including seminars, internships, and course projects, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the position will assist with activities for the Institute for Entrepreneurship including teaching /coordinating our introductory entrepreneurship course, developing the entrepreneurship co-major, and working with our other Assistant Director(s) on activities to advance the mission of the Institute for Entrepreneurship such as Startup Weekend and other duties as assigned.

     

    REQUIRE: Bachelor's degree in business or related field; experience and understanding of corporate entrepreneurship or creativity and innovation (as demonstrated by coursework or professional experience); excellent written and oral presentation skills; willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends; ability to adapt within an entrepreneurial start-up environment; and willingness to travel. Miami University will not sponsor H-1B work authorization for this position.

     

    DESIRE: M.B.A. or advanced degree in related field; 2-5 years of experience in business or related field; experience with corporate entrepreneurial organizations or creativity and innovation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem; and experience developing and promoting new programs or events.
