RUTGERS BUSINESS SCHOOL - NEWARK & NEW BRUNSWICK

Tenure Track Position in Entrepreneurship – Open Rank

The Department of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick invites applications for a tenure track position in Entrepreneurship starting in September 2018. Strong candidates will demonstrate outstanding research potential and have an active research program, excellent teaching capabilities, and the desire to help entrepreneurship make our communities and the world a better place.  Applicants at the rank of Assistant Professor should have a doctoral degree granted or nearly completed (i.e., ABD).  Applicants at the level of Associate or Full Professor should have research and teaching records appropriate to the rank.

Rutgers Business School–Newark and New Brunswick is the leading public MBA program in the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan region and has the largest doctoral program of any public university in the nation.  Rutgers University-Newark is consistently ranked the most diverse research university in the United States and we benefit from the combination of local grounding and global perspective this brings. As an anchor institution we pride ourselves on outstanding scholarship and useful scholarly engagement in our communities. Through our research, teaching and development initiatives we impact understanding, policy and practice in our region and the world. We seek scholars who have a similar vision for their academic work.

The Rutgers Advanced Institute for the Study of Entrepreneurship and Development (RAISED) incorporates and builds upon four flourishing initiatives: The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED), the New Jersey Social Innovation Institute (NJSII), the Rutgers Technology Management Research Center (TMRC), and the Collaborative for Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization (CTEC). The scope of our activities – ranging from the most disadvantaged to the most advantaged contexts for entrepreneurship – is as broad as that of any university on the planet.    The successful candidate will work with a group of talented researchers and teachers whose current expertise spans the areas of social entrepreneurship, urban entrepreneurship, and technology entrepreneurship and commercialization.  We also work with a growing group of PhD students pursuing careers in entrepreneurship research and we consistently host visiting scholars from around the world. Teaching opportunities will include undergraduate and graduate courses and supervision of doctoral students.  Faculty members are expected to teach in Newark and New Brunswick and are provided an office on either campus depending on needs.

In addition to faculty associated with RAISED, the Department of Management and Global Business has world-renowned faculty with specialties in strategy, international business, ethics and corporate social responsibility, cross cultural management, diversity, organization behavior, and organizational justice.  Our research-active faculty include: Anastasia Bailey, Ted Baker, Michael Barnett, John Cantwell, Chao Chen, Petra Christmann, Joanne Ciulla, Farok Contractor, Nancy DiTomaso, Ajai Gaur, Michelle Gittelman, Jerry Kim, Mitchell Koza, Terri Kurtzberg, Daniel Levin, Douglas Miller, Sinead Monaghan, Arturo Osorio, Sara Parker-Lue, Aviad Pe'er, Jeffrey Robinson, Neha Shah, Oliver Sheldon, Phyllis Siegel, Marcus Taussig, Alex Van Zant, Danni Wang and Danielle Warren.
