    Corporate and Entrepreneurship Education
    BABSON COLLEGE
     
     
    Babson College is recognized as one of the world's top providers of corporate and entrepreneurship education.  Its global client base includes corporations, entrepreneurs, small & medium business, educational institutions, foundations, non-profits, and public sector organizations; and client solutions include custom, open-enrollment, and sponsored programs.  Babson offers the longest-standing and most well-known program for teaching entrepreneurship educators, the Price-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators, and the college offers numerous other programs for entrepreneurship educators and business organizations throughout the world.
     
    The Managing Director, Business Development plays a lead role in establishing and driving the college's corporate and entrepreneurship education strategy in the global marketplace.  The Managing Director reports directly to the Dean for Babson's Executive and Enterprise Education division, and serves as part of the division's senior leadership team. 
     
    Specifically, the Managing Director is responsible for: leading and motivating a team of business development professionals; leading a set of integrated business development and marketing activities that support Babson's corporate and entrepreneurship lines of business; driving revenue generation in accordance with organizational strategy and goals; conveying Babson's capabilities to key clients and business partners; being an expert on industry trends; and enhancing the Babson's competitive position by collaborating with faculty and other departments on campus – including the graduate school, research centers, alumni relations, and College Marketing – to shape a market-driven portfolio of products and services.
     
    Qualifications
     
    • 10+ years of consultative sales and/or business development coming out of higher education, professional services, entrepreneurship, or global non-profit sectors.
    • Previous experience as a leader and motivator of global sales and business development teams.
    • Proven track record of success selling high-priced, intangible/conceptual products.
    • Exceptional leadership and motivational skills are essential
    • Proven ability to interact and negotiate effectively with domestic and international senior leaders from the business, education and public sectors.
    • Must understand pricing models and hurdles for profitability.
    • Must have an understanding of how to use marketing function in the service of business development.
    • Must be independent, self-confident, and highly credible in representing Babson College.
    • Ability to work in diverse, complex, rapidly changing, deadline driven environment.
    • Ability to travel globally.
    • Advanced degree in entrepreneurship, business or related field preferred.
    • Strong network of contacts in industry and academia preferred.
    • Experience living and working outside North America preferred.
