Dear Colleagues,
I am exploring the idea of a new type of series of short books (approx. 100 pages) on entrepreneurship sub-topics. The idea is to give space to authors who already have some expertise and publication success within a relatively new topic or distinct niche to elaborate more than the journal article allows, thereby getting a chance to solidify their standing within that niche by writing a book that still is concise enough to make a sufficient number of colleagues actually read (and cite) it. Hence, the criteria are:
1. The author can point to at least 1-2 publications on the topic in high tier journals as well as evidence of others paying attention to the topic (via citations or else), and there aren't others around who can point to much more than that.
2. The author is interested in strengthening their position (or emerging position) as an authority on this particular topic.
3. The author would appreciate the space and relative creative freedom of writing a book to elaborate their theoretical arguments and/or empirical underpinning and/or thoughts on a future research agenda.
I am imagining early- to mid-career scholars using this as a chance to establish authority on a topic but I can equally envisage – and would very much welcome – very established scholars who have entered seriously into a new area or who have more, new things to say on an old topic of theirs contributing to the series.
I have preliminary commitment from a publisher with strong presence in entrepreneurship for the realization of a series of this kind
