CALL FOR STUDENT POSTER PRESENTATIONS
The 10th Annual Energy Africa Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn in Cherry Creek Denver on November 9-10, 2017. The conference will bring together high-level government officials, business executives, engineers, investors, energy professionals, academicians and students from Africa and all over the world to dialog, collaborate, and invest in the work needed to supply clean, reliable, accessible, affordable and sustainable energy in Africa largely by leveraging natural gas and renewable energy sources.
The Energy Africa organizers, in conjunction with the Julie Ann Wrigley Institute for Global Sustainability, are inviting student submissions for poster presentations to be displayed and judged during the conference. The posters will provide attendees with a more complete understanding of how graduate and undergraduate students from various institutions are incorporating the pillars of sustainability (economic, social, and environmental) in addressing current and future needs in their design, research, practice, business and other practices. The submission must explain how these pillars and the needs of future generations have been integrated in the analysis or practice to be presented. It is recommended that authors include a section on potential challenges in applying your research in Africa or policy recommendations in relation to your work.
Submission Instructions: The theme for this year's venue is "Delivering Solutions to Africa's Energy Challenges." Abstracts should be sent to Amdom.Berhane@du.edu and cc'ed to dkhudson@mines.edu and Dr. Luka Powanga at Lpowanga@regis.edu. Abstracts should range between 200-500 words summarizing the content of the poster, along with the title and a listing of all authors, with their institutional affiliations and contact information.
Abstract Deadline: The deadline for abstract submissions is October 20, 2017. For inquiries, contact Dr. Derrick Hudson dkhudson@mines.edu. There will be a rolling review and acceptance process. The author(s) and presenter(s) of all accepted posters will be automatically registered for the conference free of charge.
Poster Session: Posters will be displayed on the first day of the event. The author(s) will give a short overview of their poster and answer any questions. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to bring their poster and mount it before the conference begins.
Poster Awards: Poster awards will be given for the best poster among the entries. The winner and runners-up for the best student poster award will be announced at the luncheon conference on November 10, 2017. The author(s) of the best student poster will receive $2,000.00. The prizes for the runners-up will be $1,500 and $1,000.
Networking Opportunities: The Energy Africa conference provides tremendous opportunities for students to network with luminaries in the energy industry. This year's attendees of the conference include Chevron, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Power Africa, Overseas Private Investment Corporation, Millennium Challenge Corporation, Chemonics, Tetra Tech, Colorado State University, and national governments, among others.

Greetings!
When you teach business models/planning, do your students include salaries for themselves in their financial statements? And if so, what is a fair salary during the start-up and growth phases? I am aware of debates both ways,
