We offer academic research as well as practically orientated parallel sessions. The conference starts with a doctoral workshop, in which this year's conference keynote speakers and HTSF's founder participate. Our key note speaker from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management: Andrew H. Conference theme & topics
HTSF's play important roles in many innovative fields, such as e-business, life sciences (bio-technology), micro-systems technology and environmental technology. These firms are often part of a heterogeneous network, co-operating with large firms, (university) research institutes, more traditional SME's and other HTSF's. For this year's conference we are especially interested in growth of high-tech small firms & its support instruments.
We welcome papers on the roles of support instruments, related to strategy, marketing, financing, organisation or networking of high-tech small firms. In this year's conference we organize several special tracks in particular on the incubation process & incubators (prof. A.J. Groen); on research on Techno entrepreneurship (prof. F. Therin) (www.technoentrepreneurship.com ); International Entrepreneurship (prof. S. Zahra).
Papers on other HTSF-related topics (e.g. heterogeneous networks, global entrepreneurship, funding or governmental policies) can also qualify. Within the conference we will organise mini symposia on topics of three to five papers that form a whole. Best Paper Awards will be given for the best research, practical implications and PhD papers presented at the conference.
