    Dear ENT colleagues,

I'm preparing to teach a course on 'corporate entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship' at the MBA level and am wondering if you could share with me (1) syllabi and (2) any additional resources that I could take a look at.

    Best regards to all,

    Rashmi

Much scholarly research has defined the mechanisms, corporate cultural dynamics, success and failure outcomes, and dissections of opposing debates as whether corporate internal venturing is even possible. Being a four decade consultant in this specific field may I observe that the academic work is helpful, but alas not very practical to aide adoption or implementation of the symbiotic process of innovation and internal venturing.

That said, to your question of materials to assist development of an MBA course on the subject.

    1.    The following link is an interesting article by Michael H. Morris, including the most comprehensive bibliography to my knowledge - http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m4256/is_n3_v19/ai_14793835

    2.    The Clayton Christensen, Harvard Business School, book, "The Innovator's Dilemma" is a current choice for many seeking the next blockbuster disruptive technology. His focus, in my opinion, is more on  innovation creation than the next phase we call internal venturing or the ideas' journey to commercialization.

    3.    The Robert B. Rosenfeld, longtime practitioner guiding large firms towards innovation culture change, book "Making the Visible Invisible" couples innovation creation and internal venturing.

    4.    A somewhat dated but still relevant treatment of the internal venturing process can be found in the "Handbook of Business Strategy 1987/1988", Chapter heading – "Creating Value Through Effective Internal Venturing", page 14-1 to 14-25.

    5.    Lastly, I would be glad to forward the topical outline for my Internal Venturing Workshop upon your request.

Good luck, it is an important field that has yet again resurfaced and does need  more real world enlightenment to have any chance for real corporate contributions.
