    Tenure Track Faculty Position - Entrepreneurship

     

    The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Sykes College of Business at The University of Tampa seeks candidates for a tenure track position at the assistant level (Associate will be considered) starting in August 2018 to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring students, scholarly activity, and university and community service. A typical teaching load is three (3) 4-hour courses (12 contact hours) in two 14-week semesters per academic year.  In addition, this position includes working with students from disciplines across the University through the co-curricular programs offered through the award-winning John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center.

     

    Among other national awards, the Entrepreneurship program at The University of Tampa was recently named the 2016 Model Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and in 2015 won Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers Excellence in Entrepreneurship Teaching and Pedagogical Innovation Award.  The Lowth Center also houses the national headquarters of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) and sponsors EE&P (Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy Journal) - a Sage published journal focused on innovative pedagogy in entrepreneurship. Co-curricular activities offered through the Center include the CREATE business plan competition and boot-camp, the Spartan Accelerator, the UT Entrepreneurs Club, the Spartan Incubator and others.

     

    A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a related discipline from an AACSB university is required. In addition to expertise in entrepreneurship, the ideal candidate will have a secondary interest in one of the following areas: international business, innovation management, organizational behavior, strategy or sustainability. Preference will be given to candidates that have both university teaching and applied organizational experience.
