If you work at the intersection of Business and Sustainable Development, and looking for a community of inquiry in Latin America, you do not want to miss this event.
Sistema B/Academia B (B Lab partner in Latin America) and IDRC have been working together to address critical issues at the intersection of business and sustainable development, focusing on two key areas: climate change and inclusion. This, through two flagships projects called:
- "Climate Change Risks and Opportunities for B Corps in Latin America"
- "Understanding the systemic impacts of B corps on social and economic opportunities for women and youth in Latin America"
In line with these two initiatives, we welcome applications for a one-time, thematic, invite-only doctoral & early scholar consortium. The event is crafted for PhD and post-doctoral students and well as scholars in the first two years after completing theses focused on socially- and sustainability-oriented theories and methodologies, but may also include established scholars that are new to this topic. The workshop will be focused broadly on Business and Sustainability, emphasising the two key streams.
This doctoral/early career consortium will take place alongside the Encuentro +B summit, an annual event organized by Sistema B Internacional, that gathers 400+ B entrepreneurs, policy-makers and academics working in the field of business sustainability.
Thanks to financial support from the International Research Centre of Canada and Sistema B Internacional, all local costs will be covered for 15 selected applicants. We will also provide best paper awards, complete with travel stipends.
As part of the workshop, the editors for the forthcoming special issue on "Regenerative Organizations: Business and Climate Action Beyond Mitigation and Adaptation" (submission deadline 30 May, 2018), will be running a round table discussion with prospective authors
Proposals at early and any stages of development are welcome.
