The Department of Technology Management and Innovation at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering, the newest named academic school at NYU but the second oldest engineering school in the country, invites applications for a tenured associate or full professor in the area of technology entrepreneurship, with a start date of September 1, 2018. Rapidly growing along with New York City's booming tech sector, the department seeks to recruit a candidate who can provide leadership in this area in the school. The candidate will play an important role in the intellectual development of technology entrepreneurship research and education at NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
Our faculty members work closely with faculty in other departments at the engineering school and other schools at NYU (e.g. business school and law school) as well as with NYU Entrepreneurial Institute and NYU Incubators to pursue research at the highest international level. The successful candidate will complement our interdisciplinary faculty who specialize in various aspects of technology management and innovation - strategic, behavioral, organizational and societal.
Applicants should possess a PhD in Technology Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship or a related field. The ideal candidate would be someone with an established and strong research record as evidenced by consistent placement in top journals and other high-impact outlets. Special consideration will be given to applicants whose research focuses on entrepreneurship topics, such as technology commercialization and startups in high-tech sectors, singled out by Tandon School of Engineering. Experience in writing funded proposals is a plus. Teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation.
