The Division of Economics and Business invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure track Assistant Professor or tenured/tenure track Associate Professor, beginning in the fall of 2008. The Division of Economics and Business at the Colorado School of Mines offers an innovative MS degree program in Engineering and Technology Management (ETM). The ETM Program integrates the technical elements of engineering practice with the managerial perspective of modern engineering and technology management. The program is aimed at engineering and applied science students who want to augment their technical knowledge with the requisite managerial and business competencies to deal with the increasing complexity of modern high-technology enterprises. The Division also offers a BS degree in Economics and MS and PhD degrees in Mineral Economics.
Applicants should have: 1) evidence of or the potential for distinguished scholarship in one or more of the following areas: management of technology, project management, strategic management, and/or technology strategy; 2) the ability to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; 3) the ability to supervise applied research at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels; and 4) a Ph.D. degree by August 2008. The successful candidate will possess a skill set that complements the expertise of the Division?s current faculty members in operations research and management. A background in economics and an emphasis in the area of energy or minerals are also desirable.
